From Ally Coffee (The exporter/importer): In Picuma everyone is involved in coffee, but not everyone is willing to undertake the extra work required to achieve specialty quality. In Huila as in all other coffee origins, farmers are spread thin, taking other jobs - often at coops, in construction, in mining, in forestry, and planting other crops. Even specialty prices aren't enough to run a farm and feed a family. And yet, Jose acted on the potential he saw in quality improvements and Kyle also invested in the future of Finca El Mirador by becoming a partner. After serval years of planting and pruning, Mirador had a full harvest of exceptional specialty coffee. Ally eagerly purchased a full container lot, and this is the fruit of that labor.
