June 28, 2017, Lansdale, PA – Backyard Beans Coffee Company is holding a grand opening event July 15th, 2017 at their new location of 408 West Main Street, Lansdale, PA that goes beyond just serving coffee. The cafe also serves beer, wine, and cocktails after 2pm, Monday-Saturday. For one day only enjoy free coffee samples, and enter for a chance to walk out with some great giveaways (coffee beans, merchandise, nitro coffee growlers and more)! The grand opening event will also include $1 drip coffees all day, and guided morning tours of the roasting facility by owner Matt Adams. Backyard Beans will also be spotlighting local companies they have teamed up with to create their alcohol menu: beer (Round Guys Brewing Co.), wine (Stone & Key Cellars), and spirits (Boardroom Spirits) tastings. Enjoy free tastings and a demo from each local company at their scheduled time.
Matthew and Laura both have always dreamed to work in their community and team up with the local economy, that’s why they’ve partnered with Round Guys Brewing Co. The cafe not only serves Backyard Beans coffee; local beer, wine, and speciality cocktails are also available. “We wanted to make the storefront unique to the local scene here. We’re so close to the train station, so commuters have been coming by in the mornings for their cup of coffee, but we also want to give commuters something relaxing when they come back — so a beer can be a nice touch to the end of your day.” The new location provides space for a cafe, and production space for roasting, packaging and cold brew production. The storefront has an open concept so customers can view the roasting facilities from anywhere in the cafe.
The storefront is a dream come true for owners and founders, Matthew and Laura Adams. The story began when Matthew started experimenting with how to roast coffee in his backyard with his simple Weber grill. When friends and family fell in love with his backyard roasts, he took his coffee to his local farmers' market in Lansdale, PA. People responded well to his beans from one farmers' market to another so he soon began selling to local food co-ops and Whole Foods Markets. Adams quit his consulting job in Philadelphia two years ago to pursue the dream full-time; Laura followed suit a year later after the birth of their daughter, Hailey.
Adams has always wanted to do more than just roast coffee, he is constantly experimenting with new products. Over two years ago he began offering nitro cold brew on tap at the farmers' markets. He then began offering bottled cold brew at local retailers. Inspired by the cold brew movement, he decided to take it to the next level by producing a nitro canned cold brew which he introduced in Spring 2016.
